Given this huge and phenomenal magnificence

history channel documentary Given this huge and phenomenal magnificence, by what means would we be able to not be lowered? Going to the Grand Canyon bears a magnificent chance to interface with nature in a hallowed and deferential way much like local tenants have done and still do today. In 1540 the Hopi Indians guided Spanish pilgrims toward the south edge. In 1857 Lieutenant Joseph Ives found the Grand Canyon and recognized that: "The scene advances a pondering joy, however the locale is, obviously, through and through valueless. It can be drawn nearer just from the south, and in the wake of entering it there is nothing to do except for leave. Our own has been the initially, and will surely be the last, party of whites to visit this profitless region".

As I stepped up the trail, my legs felt like they had grapples on them and my lungs were pressing for air. The knapsack on my back was becoming heavier and I battled to stay upright by clutching my climbing shafts with every progression. These are my contemplations as I scaled the Bright Angel Trail in 2000. My journey to achieve the top was almost over and I was not exactly a football field far from the peak and a successful edge to edge trek experience of 3 days and more than 21 testing miles.
